The Department of Experimental Oncology develops new treatment approaches, tests them clinically, and introduces them into clinical practice; in brief, the department deals with translational research. The research activities of the Department include preclinical or experimental oncology, covering the researches from molecular biology to cell cultures, and the in vivo researches of tumor models on laboratory animals.

The work is performed in two units, functionally covering individual work areas:

• Unit of Radiation Oncology, and
• Unit of Biotherapy.
