National Clinical Registries
Data collected by the Cancer Registry of the Republic of Slovenia since 1950 make it possible to monitor the population burden of all malignant and some non-malignant diseases. Clinical registries can be used to assess the quality of care for cancer patients, as they also collect data on diagnosis and treatment.
In line with the objectives of the National Cancer Control Programme 2017-2021, the Cancer Registry has established clinical registries for the five most common cancers (breast, prostate, colorectal, lung and skin melanoma), and for childhood and adolescent cancers. The rules and processes for registration in the clinical registries remain consistent with all the applicable principles of the population-based Cancer Registry.
