Assist. Prof. Lorna Zadravec Zaletel is a radiation oncologist at the Oncology Institute of Ljubljana (OIL), specializing in rare tumors and the radiation treatment of pediatric cancer patients. She heads OIL's Late Effects Unit, which monitors childhood cancer survivors across Slovenia and patients treated for malignant lymphoma in young adulthood. In addition to her work at OIL, she holds a part-time position at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, where she leads practicals, lectures, and seminars for medical students. She is also the primary mentor for residents specializing in radiotherapy and oncology, guiding the next generation of specialists in her field. Dr. Zadravec Zaletel is the President of the Mali Vitez Foundation, dedicated to supporting childhood cancer survivors, and is an active member of several prestigious international organizations, including PanCare, SIOPE, and PROS. Her research focuses on the late effects of cancer treatment during childhood and adolescence, as well as the holistic rehabilitation of oncology patients. She is a key contributor to several European research projects, including SmartCARE, JANE, and E-QUOL, furthering advancements in survivorship care.
