Registry of Tested Individuals from Families with Hereditary Cancer

To facilitate the detection of high-risk individuals and their blood relatives with hereditary predispositions and to improve genetic testing, disease prevention and early detection of cancer, a national Slovenian database for the registration of tested individuals from families with hereditary cancer – Registry of Tested Individuals from Families with Hereditary Cancer – has been established in 2019.
The Registry of Tested Individuals from Families with Hereditary Cancer aims to actively identify families with hereditary predispositions to cancer, ensuring equal treatment for all insured individuals in Slovenia. We include individuals with a high risk of cancer in tailored national screening or comprehensive follow-up programmes, provide personalised/precision treatment for patients, and ensure continuous monitoring of the population at risk.
In addition to all the above, the registry also allows us to involve patients in research, which is extremely important in the case of very rare hereditary predispositions to cancer, and thus to obtain Slovenian population data that can be used to optimize preventive measures.
