European database of electrochemotherapy – INSPECT (registry)

Collection of data on electrochemotherapy treatment to improve understanding of the safety and effectiveness of this treatment.

Electrochemotherapy is a local treatment method in which the effect of a medicine on tumour tissue is enhanced by short electric pulses. The InspECT clinical database links data on treatment with electrochemotherapy and enables comparison of experience between centres using this treatment method.

Purpose of the study

The purpose of the study or clinical database is to collect and statistically process data on electrochemotherapy treatment, monitor treatment safety and effectiveness, and prepare reports and scientific publications that may contribute to improving clinical practice.

Study procedure

Inclusion in the clinical database does not involve additional treatment outside usual care. With the patient’s consent, data on diagnosis, treatment performed, healthcare services provided and clinical treatment outcome are entered into the database. The data are coded and processed confidentially, so that the patient’s identity is not disclosed in reports or publications.

Who can take part?

Patients for whom electrochemotherapy is planned or has been performed and who agree to the inclusion of their data in the clinical database.

How to apply?

The patient will be informed about the possibility of inclusion by a physician. Before inclusion, the patient receives information about data processing and signs consent. Participation is voluntary and may be withdrawn at any time without affecting further treatment.
