Use of electrochemotherapy in women with vulvar cancer
Assessing the effectiveness and safety of electrochemotherapy in local disease recurrence.
Vulvar cancer is a rarer form of gynaecological cancer, and treatment options may be limited when the disease recurs. Electrochemotherapy is a local treatment method in which the effect of a drug on tumour tissue is enhanced by short electric pulses. The study monitors the effectiveness of this treatment in patients with local recurrence of vulvar cancer.
Purpose of the study
The purpose of the study is to assess the effectiveness of electrochemotherapy in treating recurrent vulvar cancer before further treatment, for example surgery.
Study procedure
Patients included in the study will be treated with electrochemotherapy according to the planned clinical protocol. The study includes:
- clinical examinations and assessment of treatment response,
- monitoring of possible adverse effects,
- regular follow-up visits after treatment,
- completion of quality-of-life and pain questionnaires.
Follow-up will take place at predefined time points after treatment.
Who can take part?
Adult patients with local recurrence of vulvar cancer for whom electrochemotherapy is considered appropriate based on the professional assessment of the medical team.
